A High Priestess / Priest leads the wedding ceremony
Priestess: Like our ancestors before us, we gather under the mingled light of Earth’s first lovers, ________.
Priestess: As the moons are joined in celestial union, so do we unite, _________ and ________ the Moon and Earth.
[as the wedding ceremony continues, the priestess fills a chalice with holy water or wine]
Priestess: In the time of oceans, the celestial lovers rose from the sea each night to consummate their love in the sky. Drink now of this holy water or wine and be wed.
[the priestess gives the chalice of water / wine to mate 1 ]
Mate 1: So it may be again. I am yours in this lifetime.
[Mate 1 takes a sip of the water / wine]
Mate 2: And I am yours…in this lifetime as well.
Priestess: By the ancient right of moons and water, are you bound together, husband and wife.
Priestess & Everyone: SO MOTE IT BE!
[Mates kiss and the wedding crowd cheers]
I find these kinds of ceremonies a bit more endearing to me and soulful. So I’m a romantic at heart. ?
